FIREPLACES AND CHIMNEYS

During our home inspection we do a visual inspection of the fireplace (firebox) and the chimney itself from the roof, weather permitting.  At the time of inspection we may recommend the chimney be cleaned or depending on the type of firebox, it be cleaned, repaired or tuckpointed.  Tuckpointing is the process of refilling the mortor joints between the fire brick.

Sometimes, we may find a family of furry little critters have taken up residence in the chimney, thinking its a great starter home.  Furry little critters should not make your chimney there home, it is dangerous to you and also for them. Thankfully their are people who can relocate your furry friends and clean and repair the fireplace and chimney.
